Spelling and grammatical errors really bother me when I read a book, especially when there are lots of them. Add format mistakes and it really becomes an issue. The story line is good, I like the way Tyal grows...he's a street thief who thinks he's a tough thief, but he really only knows the basics...that's why he keeps getting in trouble and making 'rookie' mistakes. However, reading the book was like reading something written by an author who doesn't care about his work. There are lots of issues that affected my enjoyment....here are a few (Kindle Gen 2):Locations 141-47. "The he no longer looked as frail...." The he????
147-53. "He knew for sure this time he had running out of breath..." He had running?
181-87. "Tyal shuttered as the Enchanters arm....." Shuttered? How about shuddered?
203-9 "His thoughts become more adventureous..." Became?
365-70. "An Inn and Tavern would be best, as they are use to travelers." Inn and Tavern are not the name of the place, they need to be lowercase and it should be ... used to travelers.
290-97, 445,50, 802-10, the font/size changed in these places.
There were more than those, but I quit keeping track.
I'll admit, I got the book as a free Kindle download...but the bad part is all the typos and font issues are going to keep me from getting any further books from this author. If you don't have enough pride in your work to have it edited/proofread, then why would I want to read you work? Especially if you are going to charge me for it (I've seen this book is now $5.25 and the next one is $6.75). Convince me the typos are gone and the fonts don't change and then I might decide to purchase the second book in the series.

To Be a Thief Master of the Guild Volume 1 William von Sleigher 9781490550572 Books Reviews
I enjoyed reading the book very much. The plot was original and captivating. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
The book had an interesting plot conceptually. I couldn't help but think it could have been written better. It was disappointing because the storyline is pretty cool. For one, the thieves don't really steal too much. Plot lines are left unanswered and I got sooo tired of Tyl getting lost in thought and then walking into the back of whoever he's following...seriously? All in all it felt very repetitious and a little immature. There's very little character development and lacks any sort of climax, with resolution always coming quickly. Great for an average intelligent middle school student, or someone who doesn't read very often..at all.
This is the kind of story I like because I can lose myself in the story line and characters. I know there are more coming out and I'm ready for the rest of the story!
